Faith Development Offering: UU Common Read Discussion

April 7, April 24 (or May 1), May 8 & 22; 7-9 pm on Zoom | To register, complete the form and click submit.

Rev. Denise Cawley of Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist in Palatine, IL and Rev. Matt Aspin of Lake Country Unitarian Universalist Church in Hartland, WI will lead a discussion of this year’s UU Common Read, On Repentance and Repair: Making Amends in an Unapologetic World by Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg (Beacon Press, 2022). These four very special classes will guide participants through a deeper reflection on ways of examining hurt, harm, apologies, repentance, repair and then looking at that from the personal, the community and the larger national issues they impact. Each week, we will supply resources to prepare you for the next class.

Anyone interested in compassionate communication, Unitarian Universalist leadership, learning to repair harm, and even how biblical texts can guide us today in issues of reparations are going to want to attend these workshops.

We have scheduled the second session for April 24. Knowing that is CCUU candidating week, we will offer a make-up session on May 1 for those who are unable to attend April 24.
