2026-27 Religious Exploration Classes

Please email our Director of Religious Exploration, Dr. Mary Shelden, at DRE@ccuu.org with any questions you may have about our 2026-27 classes.

Religious Exploration is offered each week. Young people in PreK through Grade 6 begin in worship and are sung out to class. Classes for Junior High and Senior High Youth meet during the worship service starting at 10 am.

Nursery: Countryside offers nursery care on a regular basis during Sunday morning worship. The nursery room has live sound from the sanctuary and is available for your use as needed.

Picture Book UU (PreK - Grade 1): Using picture books and fun activities to introduce UU values and offer opportunities for our young people to ask good questions and begin to explore their own answers.

Flourishing in the Web of Life (Grades 2-5): Leaning into our UU values of interdependence and transformation, we'll be exploring nature and what it can teach us.

Becoming (Grades 6-8): Becoming is the Soul Matters coming of age curriculum, designed for young adolescents to explore their own identities, beliefs, and faith experiences.

Senior High Youth Group (Grades 9-12) will meet on Sundays at 10 am ~ Senior High Youth Group (SHYG) offers a series of events based on our youths' interests and leanings.

Volunteering

Our religious education program is a cooperative endeavor to nurture the spiritual growth of our young people. The vitality of our program depends upon everyone's support and assistance.

Please check which class or event you can help with. We request parents volunteer at least 3-6x/year.

Communications Consent

As a part of our Religious Exploration Program, we take pictures and videos of children in action as they participate in classroom activities, field trips, intergenerational events and service learning projects, etc. Please check what uses of images of your children you are willing to consent to, if any.

Yes, I give consent for my child's photo to be taken during activities in our RE program, and to be used in print material such as bulletin boards, church newsletters, and brochures. (Names would not be posted.)
